Colorado Fail to Score Again, Beat Houston
By: Clint | August 12th, 2007In what should come as no surprise, the Rapids won their first game in 10 tries by not scoring any goals. A De Rosario own goal (wasn’t he supposed to be the next star of MLS a year ago? what’s up with that?) was the only time the ball touched the back of the net. I did not watch this game (still busy with visiting family) so I’d be interested in hearing any comments by folks who saw what was going on. Although, any time the final score is 1-0 indicates to me that the viewers did NOT have a good time.
The Rapids appeared to have done all they can to try to lose the game, with Ugo Nogood Ihemelu getting tossed out of the game in the 77th minute.

The C-Firm and Class VI both stood on the balcony over the player’s entrance at halftime and let Clavijo have it. The crowd was heavy (Colorado Rush had a tournament this weekend), but I’m not sure how we looked. I heard a lot of comments from the crowd about us, but no one in the media has mentioned it yet.

Yeah, for all the games I’ve been to this season, the crowds have been good to great (depending on the opponent and weather). If the Rapids had one superior player (aka: DP spot, used wisely) and were fielding a more competitive team, I can easily see that stadium being packed each game with a great crowd throughout all sections. It’s a shame there are fans willing to do so much for a team that is being run by folks who appear to care so little.
