Colorado Wins While I’m Out of State
By: Clint | May 27th, 2007I gave my tix to my pal from the dog park and spent half the day at Denver Int’l Airport instead of seeing the Rapids beeaaat LA, 1-0. Looking at the recap, I would think it was a chippy match what with an LA ejection and 5 cautions for Colorado. From Laurie’s recap, it sounded like a poor game to witness, but it did bring up a question in my mind.
What is the Galaxy’s problem? I read that they don’t have enough talent – but what teams in MLS have more than LA? Isn’t Landon the top American playing in MLS over the last 3 seasons? Eddie may be better right now, but over a medium timeframe, isn’t Landon the top offensive player? Cobi’s ancient, but still better than average, right? Are there teams that have noticeably better starting 11s than LA? I can think of 2 or 3 (Nie and KC are looking pretty solid so far), but does Colorado really have more talent than the Galaxy? Isn’t there another reason (one which I can’t figure out from out here)?
And back to the Rapids – isn’t Herculez great? I can’t wait for him to blow up, win the scoring title, and move to the Belgian league!

Yeah, I’d like to see Herculez blow up too. Actually, I wish Martino had been able to blow him up BEFORE the red card. (At least then it would have been worthwhile.)
