In What Other League Can the Worst Team Be the Best Team

By: Clint | June 22nd, 2007

In all of MLS, the team with the most losses is Dallas. In all of MLS, the team with the most points is Dallas.

Also, other than RSL, Dallas has the worst goal differential in the west. Yet, they are, points-wise, the best team in the league. What a country!

Btw, I’ll be making my triumphant return to The Dick tomorrow where I’ll be attempting to break the world record for most mini-donuts eaten during one game. Who are the Rapids playing tomorrow - Dallas, of course. After we dispense with these hoops, I’ll be back at the stadium next month to watch the MLS all-star squadron take care of the McHoops, as well. In fact, I’ll wear my Celtic cap to tomorrow’s game in anticipation.

It’s insane to think that of June 23, FCD will have played 1/2 their league games. What were the MLS schedule folks thinking?

And compare the Dallas schedule to the Galaxy’s. I think the goal was to exhaust the Dallas players by July so they would fade out of the playoff picture. I like the way this league thinks - why can’t we do the same to the Yankees in MLB? Make ‘em play 40 days straight.

Barely related to soccer, but I have to acknowledge and praise your donut-eating goals. I’m a huge fan of casual (i.e. not insane, as in eating a few score hot dogs in 12 minutes) eating contests and hold a few second-place finishes against much larger competition.

I’ve gotta remember to bring my camera tomorrow so I can take photos of all the food I eat.
