MLS Standings and Champion Predictions 2007-2009
By: Clint | April 6th, 2007Why go the easy route and make predictions for just this season when you can follow the data and have your trend analysis pre-determine where each team will finish over the next three years (I’d go farther out but who knows when MLS will reinstate the Tampa Bay Rowdies and muck up my system)?

Toronto in last? You just watch, Clint, you just watch.

Not that it wouldn’t surprise me to see Toronto finish higher than Colorado this season, but even the Raptors had problems before Half Man Half Injury List showed up on the scene.

I like the way you think….2009 for chivas sounds right, but you never know for this season if everything gels our attack could be unstoppable.

I agree with the injury thing, but Nagamura and Casey are more or less back now, Pozniak is only out for a week or two and Reda is on his way back. It’s only that fucking O’Brien that’s still there.
And Edu, but that’s old news.Posted from

Despite my petty remarks I’m rootin for a Toronto-Colorado championship game (at least until Calgary gets a team!)

I just want Dallas and Houston to have Offsides so when the playoffs come, there will be lots of trashtalking going around.

You’re predicting quite a fall for Houston. I don’t think the fall is going to be quite so steep for the Dynamo (last in the West in 2009?) - but time will tell. I’d also put Salt Lake up one more spot in 08, but I’m terribly biased.

Well Clinty boy, things are looking good for you here, it’s 2-0 at half-time…. Gomez to the rescue!

Is Gomez great, or what? ESPN was there so I guess Rob and the boys broadcasted the game. I’m ready to watch Toronto on TV tonight! Go Roughriders!

Right or not, I appreciate your pessimism about your own team — a man after my own heart. (And, on that same note, Nie second? Are you out of your damn mind? You think Reyna will still be alive in 2009?)

If all goes well, Nie will start to look so bad next season that Isaiah Thomas will be installed as GM. He will immediately sign five massively overpaid, overrated, one-dimensional right wingers who will produce for a year before they remember they are overpaid sucks (I’m estimating this to take effect in 2010).

Isn’t Mathis already the Starbury of soccer?

Quite true. And the guy who scored 2 for RSL this weekend - he’s the guy Colorado traded away to GET Mathis. S’wonderful!
