Well I hope Cancela is half as good as Candela. If that turns out to be the case, I may have to rethink my pick for champion this year.

Good summary of the game – especially the comment on Brown. I remain shocked that guy pulled it together to score, even if he still looked a touch ungraceful when he did.

What, by the way, do you think of the impending arrival of Jose Cancela? I know this one ain’t a chart topper, but it’s weird, isn’t it?

Ooof! Gotta have Wynalda to make MLS broadcasts worth leaving unmuted. Who would have thought that an ex-Elvis impersonator would turn out to be the best commentator in America (at least for soccer)?

I decided to forego attending in person, due to health & weather-related personal reasons, but I watched it on TV.

Dave O’Brien and Julie Foudy was thoroughly painful broadcast combination.

I only managed to catch the last 20 minuets cuz I had to work but I was surprised by the intensity of the game… In the 20 minutes I watched it looked like there were gonna be a couple of fights… i was excited usually MLS games are a little bit more dull…

I was quite surprised to see the rapids play so well yesterday, they played like DC United was supposed to play. So is this indication of things to come, and proof that the West dominates the east? If so, then this should prove a single table is needed.

Great point! That was something that was shocking to see in person – how Colorado dominated the midfield and players shot into position to make plays throughout the game. The offensive play of the midfield in the 2nd half was lacking, but they were solid in defending the center of the field the entire match.

Fantastic game, this. D.C. seems to still be that team that — when holding things together — can be good, but otherwise breaks down into petulance. Rapids did a fantastic job of emasculating the D.C. midfield. Fun to watch. >;)
