The Rapids Get Their Dong Wang’d

By: Clint | June 11th, 2007

A goal from acting captain Jovan Kirovski was not enough to propel the Rapids to victory Sunday night. Colorado dropped the international contest against China after a second half goal and assist from Beijing Guoan midfielder Wang Dong.

It appears the litmus test for 2nd place Colorado was NOT passed, although to be fair, the 2-1 loss to the Chinese national team did feature mostly the Rapids reserves and a few of the guys who didn’t play the full 90 in the previous loss (look how the losses are mounting – luckily a trip to Carson for a Chivas beat-down should help right the ship). Keel and Zack vs. Wang and Dong – why oh why did I not attend this game in person! The signs I could have come up with would have made me a Youtube star and public enemy #1 for Altitude Sports.

That is without question the most immature headline I ever read.

(I’m so jealous that I didn’t write it!)
