The Rapids Season Opener is ON

By: Clint | April 6th, 2007

The official notice from the Rapids is below, but in case anyone was wondering if the game would be postponed due to the rain/snow we’re supposed to get for the next 36 or so hours, the answer is NO. Game on, baby! Now I get to freeze, catch a cold, AND watch the Rapids lose… all at the same time!

Seriously though (makin it clear for anyone not used to my piss-poor writing style), GO RAPIDS!

A flask full of moonshine can help with the cold…

    Wow!

“-Every fan will be able to exchange their actual match ticket for a commemorative frameable Opening Day ticket at tables around the concourse”

That sounds neat! Unfortunately, the weather that day made it a risky proposition for me to attend. Driving 3 hours (round trip) in the snow from Colorado Springs to see a 90 minute soccer game in sub-freezing temperatures was not going to help me get over the flu-like symptoms I developed on Friday.

So my opening-day tickets are still on the kitchen counter, and I’m bummed I missed out on the commemorative framables.

I suppose this officially makes me a fair-weather fan! I admit it!

Hey that was redonkulous cold on Saturday. I risked divorce by dragging my wife out in that weather, but the allure of stadium food was a solid remedy. I wouldn’t drive 3 hours to see a regular season game myself, even in good weather - unless there was a good trout stream nearby, that is.

Here’s the best part of that game: I heard the announcements for the commemorative tix and I STILL forgot to get one. D’oh!
